#portlandburgerweek stop 8: the Aloha burger!

a riff on their usual burger, this was a real saucy boi. it was good, but less flavorful than i thought it would be with longanisa as the meat. tbh, rhe adobo poutine completelt stole the show 😅

#portlandburgerweek stop 7: the bulgogi burger!

it didn’t look like much, but there was a lot of flavor hidden in there. nice sweet heat, good pickle balance, great sauce. solid contender.

#portlandburgerweek stop 6: the Crab Rangoon burger!

i love crab rangoon and i’ll be damned if it doesn’t work great on a burger. the fried wontons really save it from being what would otherwise be a mushy mess, though 😂

#portlandburgerweek stop 5: Curry-osity Killed the Burger

another great entry. reminiscent of the Pho Smash i had at lunch because of the five spice, but it diverges with a red curry sauce and chile/basil jam. this one is definitely in my top 3 so far!

#portlandburgerweek stop 4: the Pho Smash!! 🍲

Review: ok this one is DELISH. it really is the essence of pho distilled into a burger. the patty is cooked perfectly and the bone marrow mayo elevates the whole thing. smash indeed.

#portlandburgerweek S07E08 — “Shaanxi Classic”. drove all the way out to Lake Oswego for the season finale of Burger Week. it was overcooked, which is a shame for wagyu. toppings were good and had a good kick but overall an underwhelming finale. 2.5/5 (great brussels sprouts tho)

#portlandburgerweek S06E07 — “Can’t Bahn Mi Love”. Tastes just like a bahn mi and my mouth is still tingling a little bit. Nailed it. 4/5

#portlandburgerweek S06E07 — Danwei Canting’s “Spicy Pork Burger” i don’t know if it’s the chengdu street fries fucking with my palate but this just tasted like a better-than-avg pork meatball to me. tiny, too. come for their other food cause it’s real good. 2/5 for the burg tho

#portlandburgerweek S06E06: “The Grappler”

y’all, this just dethroned Bar Maven as my number one. well seasoned patty cooked a perfect medium-rare, good quality bacon, elevated by the combination of blue cheese, grilled apple and pear butter. just killer. 4.5/5

#portlandburgerweek S06E05, “Pulled Pork Torta”. probably my second favorite episode so far, behind Bar Maven. use the mustard sauce!

#portlandburgerweek S06E05, “Pulled Pork Torta”. probably my second favorite episode so far, behind Bar Maven. they started skimping on chicharron but that’s ok, i don’t think it was necessary. tastes like an elevated backyard cookout burger. i recommend adding the mustard sauce

#portlandburgerweek stop 4: EastBurn’s “Big Mike” (a take on the Big Mac). it’s better than a Big Mac but not as good as a Trick Dog. this would have been a good 3.5/5, but the fried pickles tasted more like a fryer than like pickles 😬 so, 3/5. skippable IMO
