the thing i miss most about Twitter might be Circles. i loved having people i could post more vulnerably with in the relative safety of a Cone of Silence

@davidcelis yeah. i feel like “the group chat” is still the go-to for that but sometimes you just want to post and be seen, but not necessarily get the immediate replies/conversation you’d get in a group text. i feel like i’m way too introverted for a group chat. :/
@mnemonica i also liked being able to define my own circle. i think i had a few dozen people in there at least! i'm not in many group chats, so this was like disparate group chats brought under one umbrella just for me. it was nice
@davidcelis yeah. and we can’t really hope for that here bc nothing is truly private. i feel like FB joining the fediverse is mostly so it can vacuum up data :/
